Barcelona, Spain: An old woman, shrouded in black, begs for alms at the steps of yet another small, dingy, and inconspicuous church in Barcelona.

Puerta del Sol, Madrid: A tourist gets up to take a photo of Madrid’s beautiful, old buildings as the characteristic red hop-on hop-off bus glides through the narrow alleyway. Incidentally, that’s the hotel I stayed at on the left!

Parc Guell, Barcelona: Gaudí never fails to boggle the mind with his bizarre manifestation of his perception of the world. Barcelona is immensely fortunate to be able to call such a wacky wizard as one of their own. Mosaic work in dizzying colours representing elements of mysticism (and fairytales?) such as dragons and sea serpents give this park a deserving spot in every tourist’s itinerary.

Plaça de Catalunya, Barcelona: Serenity and still waters; midnight revelry and chaos.

La Ramblas, Barcelona: I love impromptu street dancing. These guys were alright - nothing compared to the street dancers in America, of course - but danggg, what moves!
La Ramblas, Barcelona: No other city has street performers like Barcelona does. Enough said.
